  1. Another great show, guys. My favorite card from trace amount has to be Big brother. Double that breaking news and make it stick for 0 cost? My NBN turbo-graphics (heh.) deck gets meaner and meaner. I was surprised you guys didn’t like Amazon industrial zone, though. That beautiful tollbooth for 5 instead of 8? Yes, please. Sure you lose out on the surprise factor, but with NBN especially, it’s all about the built-in effects of ICE anyway.

I live out in central Massachusetts. Unfortunately in the middle of nowhere. But there is a game shop about 30 mins away that is going to be hosting a Netrunner night, so my wife and I are going to try like hell to get out there.

Thanks for the shout-out! Though my last name is pronounced like the animal. Don’t worry about it, everyone gets it wrong, and you did better than most.

  2. Hi Greg – thanks for the comments – and sorry about your name, man.

Glen’s choices are based on what he thinks he’ll get the most use out of, and basically, we can’t do every card in every DP from here on out. Good cards will get missed.

Good lord – your wife plays Netrunner? Better work hard and keep that one!

  3. As always, very interesting views and analysis.

I’m looking forward to your updated impressions on Compromised Employee after you’ve tried it out in play. I was very excited when I first saw it, but after a few test runs in my Crim deck I am underwhelmed. Mildly useful if you get it early, dead card in mid-to-late-game. Right now, I find it a waste of influence points in Anarch/Shaper and an interesting but situational addition in Crim decks.

    Anyway… keep em coming!! 😀

    • Good listen, thanks!

Do yourself a favor and play HB with 3x Encryption Protocols. On paper, it seemed decent. In play it was phenomenal. All of the cards it enhances are good cards in their own right:

      Ash
      Red Herrings
      Pad Campaign
      Adonis
      OTHER Encryption Protocols

Getting out a single encryption protocol protected by 1 ice means that you can throw down pad campaigns and adonis willy nilly without protection, and unless the runner is super rich, he will almost never find it worthwhile to deal with.

Get 2 out and you pretty much dont have to use ice to protect any of these assets. Not to mention Ash costing 5 to trash and red herrings costing 3 is hilarious.

  4. Great podcast. I’m fairly new to the game so it would REALLY help if you told us what the cards do that you are talking about because I have no clue what you are talking about otherwise.

  5. Hi folks, great show again!
Would be great if you could drop another word on Keymaster because this really is a card I am not able to find out how to use it effectively although there seem to be quite a lot of decks with it in the Net.

    Greetings from Munich(Germany)!!

  6. lulz. I like how you guys were predicting E3 Feedback would actually see play :p

If there’s one thing I learned from all my years of Magic it’s that “hate cards” like that, which only target a specific kind of card or strategy, don’t see anything other than fringe play. I swear, every time a card was spoiled that would have shut down a particular deck, everybody went nuts about how that deck was going to suffer… but then the card came out, and NOTHING happened. It would always end up as a sideboard card that might OCCASIONALLY see play.

And Netrunner doesn’t even have sideboards, so E3 is EXTRA useless.

Definitely something to keep in mind sizing up these cards. If a card is great, but only against ONE faction… well, then it’s pretty bad. Nobody is going to want to use a card that only works against one faction. Well, not even the faction, just that one kind of ICE.
